Teaser tuesday - 100223

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters by Jane Austen and Ben H. Winters

"This cannot hold", said he, and his fishy face fingers grew rigid, as they sometimes did when he became animated. "No, no, do not desire it; for when the romantic refinements of a young mind are obliged to give way, how frequently are they succedded by such opinions as are but too common, and too dangerous! I speak form experience."

pg. 60

I was slightly doubtful of how much I would enjoy this book at first but I have been pleasantly suprised. Once you get into it it isn't too bad at all :)

I am not sure what to make of all these spinoffs! I want to actually read the classics before I read them though.

My teaser is here

I have never heard of this - but seamonsters can only make a classic better? *head spinning with wonder*

I think another one is Pride and Prejudice adn Zombies.

I know a few people who have lover them. I'm not so sure I want to try them.

Are you enjoying it Clarissa?

I read this one and Pride & Prejudice & Zombies and enjoyed both. I think you need a strange sense of humor for it --- or maybe that's just me. :-) Here's mine this week - http://justbookreading.com/2010/02/23/teaser-tuesdays-13/.

Ya know, I've seen these books at the store and they intrigued me b/c I'm a huge Jane Austen fan...but I was worried that they're reinterpretation would ruin it for me.

I might have to give them a chance.

Here are our teasers!

LOL, is this the next book after Pride and Prejudice and Zombies? I've read about them, but have yet to read them. Looks intriguing... although the "fishy face fingers" look... creepy. XD

Thanks for dropping by my teaser!
